chopper update pictures

I've been getting all my wiring done on the chopper . Got all my lights working the only part I haven't got yet is a horn and a housing for my oil light , Needed to space out my rear fender 3/4" got theses made up . Now I'll be prepping the parts up more be for painting .                                                                                                                                          

Spacers made for fender and looks pretty close to what I was looking for .

Old stuff that brings the past back

I found some old center caps in a box in my shed . They were covered with mud and I had no idea that they were any good at all . I hadn't seen any of these old ET center caps since the 70's . I was needing a set after I lost my spinners a few years ago so this was a nice find for the trike , doesn't look have bad ether ! Some times you got so much junk you don't know what you got til you start going though it !

Harley recalls

Harley-Davidson is recalling nearly 46,000 motorcycles in the U.S. because they could stay in gear due to clutches that won't fully disengage.
The recall covers certain Electra Glide, Ultra Limited, Police Electra Glide, Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King models from the 2014 and 2015 model years.
Harley says in documents that gas bubbles can cause the clutch master cylinder to lose its ability to fully disengage the clutch, especially if the bike has been parked for a long time. This could cause a rider to lose control of the motorcycle if it's started in gear.
The problem was found through customer complaints. Harley reported 27 crashes and four minor injuries.

Dealers will flush the clutch and rebuild the master cylinder. The recall was to start April 23.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               What can I say ! Harley's are the reason I started riding street bikes in the first place but for this big of a recall on there top dollar bikes ? WTF have you guys lost it or what ! I think your trying to much to up grade with out enough R and D besides if you would leave it alone for more than a year or two you won't have stuff like this happening !

Easter

Went on my Easter ride but the camera messed up and  I didn't  get any of it record . The trike ran ok but still not there . surging and acting like it's not getting gas , I was told it could be my electronic ignition so I'll think I will go back to points just to see if it is . This will be my easy and cheapest way of finding out for sure . If it's not the ignition it's got to be that old carburetor we'll find out tomorrow. Hope you had a great Easter with your Family and friends My niece brought some grub and candy down witch was very nice . Thanks to Donna, Raysha  and Ray and Trula  for the thought . Lets not for get what the day is all about a big thanks to Jesus for my life. In these times were people are being killed for saying they know him it time more than every to stand your ground. I will never have a man tell me what to believe one way or the other !  I don't care who you are or how tuff you think you are I fear no evil !

Well !

Got new plugs and wires for the trike! This made it run a lot better . The old lady and I took it for a test ride last week. Still needs just a little more carb adjusting but you can tell that it is almost back to normal . The weather turned cold again and snowed yesterday so no riding this weekend . Worked on a shovel for a friend this week I put an oil cooler on and fixed a few oil leaks . Not much going on with the chopper project yet but it will be getting nice soon and I'm sure a lot things will be picking up.  I did have my bro Tim come up and check on me last weekend he was on his street and trail bike ,. !          

Well !!!!!! May be get to ride next weekend !

Cabin Fever

  Not a good time for a biker for sure , I had the water freeze with the  3 below temp and the high winds a couple of days ago and was with out water for a day or two . A big shout out to my father in law Ray !!!!
He helped me fix that mess ! I hate the cold , never did like it . I don't ski or snow board or build snow men ! Ha Ha !!!. Cabin Fever is setting in , So if you are having this bad weather you know were I'm coming from. If your like my bro mulliedog1 on you tube he is still having a few good days of riding !!!. I should have some more work started on the chopper and trike here soon ! Maybe I'll be able  post some new pictures and video soon.

Bobber

        The chopper and Bobber have been around for a long time. The Bobber was the first style that seem to start after WW2 , returning service men were buying the used baggers and stripping them down. This made them lighter and faster than the old AMA Bagger types. The out law clubs liked this style for some time then in the late 60's early 70's the chopper came in to being .maybe the movie Easy Rider had some thing to do with this or not ! I am sure it was a west coast style to begin with. Both  styles have come and gone over the decades. The trend now seems to be the Bagger again. I my self care nothing for the Bagger style. My father always called them garbage trucks I guess because they had all that junk on them. All these style come and go but for me the real cool style is laid back cursing of the chopper.It is real nice with your Ole lady on the back up against the sissy bar and you laid back with pull back bars flying down the interstate . Just kooool !!!!

Winter Project Update

The flu has got the best of me the last couple of weeks ! Not been working on any projects or anything just trying to beat this flu thing. I have been thinking on the next move on the chopper / bobber project. I have to get the rear fender and gas tank in  prime and paint and I need to make some hard lines for my oil cooler. Going to paint the rear fender white to contrast the bright green and purple paint. Keeping with the joker theme that I'm going for !  I was thinking of adding the H A ! H A graphic all over the rear fender. For the gas tank painting it white with a purple shading on the panels on the coffin tank and a graphic of the Joke and one of side and Harley Quinn on the other side !

                                                                                                     Just a few quick graphics to show how it may look ! Did not spend any time on these ! Just for the idea!

What goes around always come back to bite you in the A## and I know this is so true ! You treat people with respect like you want to be treated and things will really be better all around . A lot of people never think about how or what they do or say can do to the people around them ! Most just care about them self and try there hardest to impress others and use people to there advantage .
