Parts trouble

I know it has been a while since I blogged any thing . Been working hard on the trike and not taking to many pictures. I would like to rant a little about the { guess your part } parts store's. I try my best to stay away from these store's if I can but last weekend was a have to case. Was working on the trike last Saturday and noticed my fan belt had a bad crack on it and was needing replaced. It was getting late and my VW guy had already went home for the day. I ride down and tell them I need a belt for a 73 super beetle. I also tell them it will have to be shorter than stock cause of the aftermarket power crank pulley. They give me a stock belt and it fits over the whole set up with the old belt still on there. So I return it and they said they have a smaller one for a different size crank. So I try it still to long by a 1/2 in". So I take the old belt with me { which I should of done the first time } and tell them to match it up with a belt and then we finely get something to fit. It's always this way when dealing with these type of store's . I got you a # for the belt so if any of you guys need a belt with the pulley set up I have.

Ride today

Started out to be a great day for a ride. I hit the road at 9:00 am and it sure was nippy about 34 Deg. Met up with Dr. Dave on way though Johnson City, The trike was not idling to good but I thought it was just cold. We head off to Greenville and on to Galiburg. Every thing was going smooth or so I thought we stop in Pigen Forge at the Harley dealer to check out the 2014s . As we were leaving that noise I heard when the brake pad broke started again so we started home . We were doing ok just noise and the bike would shake a little every once in a while. Til we were about 50 mile from home and the wheel bearing showed it stuff and went out. Having no way to hall it home I kept driving hoping the wheel wouldn't fall off. It was wobbling pretty bad but it made it home.
